How a project works

From your first email to the finished file, in six steps.

No portal to learn and no surprises on the invoice. You deal with one partner throughout.

  1. Enquiry

Email us at projects@compass-translation.com with the files, or a description of the job, and your deadline. It helps to tell us which files are for translation and which are for reference only, and whether anything contains personal data. If something is missing, we ask.

  2. Quote

We send a written quote listing each deliverable, its price, the expected delivery date and how long the quote stays open. Every price is built from an itemised breakdown of the tasks, which you can ask to see.

  3. Acceptance

Accept the quote in writing, quoting its number. A reply by email is enough. We confirm with a job number, and work starts. Every job runs under our Terms of service.

  4. Production

We check your source against the approved label, translate it with the label wording anchored, put the translation back into your file, and check every slide for text that no longer fits.

  5. Review in the finished file

Reviewers work in the real deliverable, not a spreadsheet of sentences. A layout specialist fixes anything that no longer fits. Then a linguist reviews and edits the translation in place in the file. Then it comes to you, and to your client, for the final check.

  6. Delivery

You receive the finished file, with a short report on any issues we found in the source. If you spot something, tell us within 10 business days and we correct accepted errors free of charge. Once your client approves the final version, it becomes the reference for your next job, so terminology stays consistent.

Working under your name

We work behind you. Your client deals with you and sees your work, under your name. If your client has its own requirements on confidentiality, retention or how materials are used, tell us before the job starts. We confirm in writing which of them we accept, before any work begins.
